Hill Broadway sometime during the 1960s.
Fire crews were attempting to rescue the lorry driver who was trapped
in his cab. They had none of the powerful cutting and lifting equipment
carried on present day fire appliances.
Over the years, Broadway fire brigade has attended many such incidents on this notorious stretch of road.
